Congratulations to Christ Church C/E (VA) Infant and Primary School in Ware who are our
2026 Primary Major Award Winners
The school has secured funding for 15x LEGO Education SPIKE Prime sets and 15x (128GB) iPads to enable the delivery of a full computer control and robotics curriculum for Years 5 and 6, replacing outsourced provision with in-school teaching. The programmable kits combine motors, sensors and coding software, allowing pupils to design, build and test working models while learning key concepts in engineering, coding and problem-solving. Paired with dedicated iPads, pupils will be able to programme, debug and refine their designs in real time, developing logical thinking, resilience and collaboration.
The project will benefit upper Key Stage 2 pupils directly, ensuring all can access hands-on STEM learning regardless of background, while also building staff confidence through supported lesson materials and repeated delivery. Beyond this, the iPads will strengthen digital learning across the school, supporting coding in Key Stage 1, times tables practice in Year 4, and wider use of educational apps in science and other subjects. The resources will also enable an after-school robotics club, widening participation further. By embedding this provision in-house, the school will sustain high-quality STEM learning for future cohorts without additional cost to families.
